Chrome come with Java Scripts Virtual Machine known as V8, V8 will rendered javascripts quickly than other browser. The Chrome also come with newer tabbed style compare to Firefox and IE7 - The tabs are on the upper side of URL bar instead of below.
At security side, Chrome do offer features called “Privacy Mode” Anything on that “Privacy Mode” window wont be logged by computer. Its a good features for doing online banking and other sensitive tasks although people may abuse it for other “private” surfing. 
Other security features that may put it in use is constantly download harmful website to help reducing malware and phishing attack.
